Nell Bland Lloyd, 89, of Wilmington passed away Monday, June 18, 2012 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

She was born July 23, 1922 in Turkey, NC to the late Mary Thelma Bland and Arthur Luther Bland. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Kelly Guy Lloyd; sister, Betty Jean Butler; brother, David Gerald Bland; and grandson, Kyle David Lloyd.

Nell is survived by her sons, Kelly Guy Lloyd, Jr. of Wilmington and John Irvin Lloyd and wife, Lee of Burgaw; and grandson, Kelly Guy Lloyd, III. She leaves behind long time friends and much loved family, and special care givers, Martha Jean Coffield, Ann Johnson and Mary Congleton.

Nell was a member of Oak Grove Presbyterian Church. Her Christian faith, love of family and service to others were well known by her family and friends. She was greatly loved and will be missed.

The family will see friends from 10 to 11 am Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at Oak Grove Presbyterian Church, 3736 Carolina Beach Rd., where the funeral service will begin at 11 am. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Meals on Wheels or the Lower Cape Fear Hospice.
