Nena Miles Apsitis, 77, of Wilmington died August 30, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was the daughter of the late Middleton Douglas Miles and Eula Lee Isgett. She was preceded in death by her brothers: William Carl Miles of Castle Hayne and Allard Leful Miles of Wilmington.
Surviving are: her husband of 57 years, Gunars “Gus” Apsitis of Wilmington; sons, Kevin C. Apsitis of Wilmington and Erick J. Apsitis of Charlotte; daughter-in-law, Patricia Lewis Apsitis and grandson Joshua Apsitis of Charlotte.

A private final service is planned for a later date.

Family asks that friends of Nena mark her passing by making a donation to the American Cancer Society or any other charity of their choice.
