Nikolas Patrick McClellan Sorensen, beloved son, brother, grandson, and friend, passed away on January 28, 2024, at the age of 18 doing what he loved. Born in Poprad, Slovakia on March 14, 2005, Nikolas brought boundless joy and inspiration to all who knew him. His vibrant spirit and unwavering determination left an indelible mark on the lives he touched.

Nikolas was a young man full of passion and ambition. He was completely bilingual (English and Slovak) and his interests spanned far and wide, from the intensity of motorcycling and lacrosse to the finesse of golf, and everything in between. Whether it was scoring goals in the hockey rink, kicking a soccer ball with precision, or diving into the pool with grace, Nikolas thrived in every sporting endeavor he pursued. His dedication and skill served as a shining example to his peers and teammates.

As he pursued his education, Nikolas attended North Brunswick High School and Brunswick Community College, where he graduated from high school with a heart full of promise and a thirst for knowledge. Currently, he was attending Cape Fear Community College hoping to become an astro-engineer, eager to broaden his horizons (as well as humankind’s) and make a difference in the world.

Nikolas leaves behind a loving family and countless cherished memories. He is survived by his devoted father, Benjamin Bryant McClellan Sorensen, and his nurturing mother, Emilia Pavlikova Sorensen. His brother, Adam Jan McClellan Sorensen, shared in his adventures and was his steadfast companion throughout life’s journey. Nikolas also leaves behind his paternal grandparents, David Francis Sorensen and Margo Elaine McClellan Sorensen, as well as his maternal grandparents, Jan Pavlik and Emilia Pavlikova, his aunt Jay and his godmother and aunt, Silvia.

To honor Nikolas’ memory and celebrate his remarkable life, a service will be held at 3:30 pm on Sunday, February 4, 2024, at the Wilmington Funeral Chapel. Friends, family, and all whose lives were touched by Nikolas are invited to come together, share stories, and find solace in one another’s embrace during this difficult time.

Nikolas pokračoval vo vzdelávaní, navštevoval strednú školu North Brunswick High School a Brunswick Community College a strednú školu ukončil so srdcom plným sľubov a túžby po vedomostiach.

Nikolas po sebe zanecháva milujúcu rodinu a nespočetné množstvo cenných spomienok, svojho oddaného otca Benjamína Bryanta McClellena Sorensena a starostlivú matku Emíliu Pavlíkovú Sorensenovú.

Nick, I hope your still dancing around up there and i hope your still doing the things you enjoyed doing down here. My heart is so broken and it aches so terribly bad💔. You were so funny and always had a smile on your face. The main thing that has bothered me though is that when i was in the hospital in October, you texted me and asked if i was going to be okay. Now i can’t ask the same because you’re not here. You loved riding that bike. I was so proud of everything you accomplished. I miss coming to bug you at work. It doesn’t feel real. I won’t ever forget you Nick your story will standout and you will never be forgotten ! I miss you so much 💔🕊️
