This is to celebrate the life of Dr. Frank Harvey Hackworth, born to Nellie Maude Fullmer and James Alton Hackworth in Preble County, Ohio, on July 5, 1935. Dr. Hackworth fulfilled his
dream of meeting Jesus face to face on Sunday, June 25, 2023.
The highlights of Dr. Hackworth’s life were his soul’s salvation on June 1965; his marriage to his “Miss America” on August 26, 1961; and the adoption of his two daughters, Lisa and Carrie Beth from Rolloff Ministries. He shared his testimony at every possible opportunity. Since 1965, he and Pat have partnered to bring many people of all ages to Christ. He has pastored
churches in Florida and North Carolina, preached countless revivals all over the nation, and taught in Christian schools to bring the world to the knowledge of Christ’s sacrifice. He began
pastoring Faith Baptist Church in November, 1977, and continued this ministry until his homegoing.
He used every talent he had to draw people to salvation. He taught Tae Kwon Do to reach hundreds of children, teenagers, and adults. He enjoyed playing his harmonica every time a
chance presented. His ministries included New Hanover County Sheriffs Department Chaplain, numerous jail ministries, and many nursing home ministries. Dr. Hackworth also supported the establishment and building of many churches, orphanages, and hospitals on mission fields around the globe. His passion was the salvation of the souls of people.
Dr. Hackworth is survived by his wife, Patricia Ann Hackworth; two daughters, Lisa Hackworth Mills and Carrie Beth Clerkin (Joe). He boasts four grandchildren: Tyler Jacob McGirt
(Rachael), Paige Nicole Spiker (Ryan), Ian Connor James Armstrong, and Morgan Bryn Elise Armstrong. His “pride and joy” were his three great grandchildren: Aiden Joseph McGirt,
Colton Andrew Spiker, and Elena Sophia McGirt who all called him “Papaw.”
He is preceded in death by his parents; by his brothers, James Hackworth, Jr., and John Hackworth; sisters Geneva Kirstatter, Ruth Ann Rutherford, Betty Sue Ashby, and Linda
Hackworth. He is also predeceased by great grandchild Penelope Ann Spiker.
On Friday, June 30, 2023, friends and family will gather to remember and celebrate his legacy at Wilmington Funeral Chapel, 1535 S 41st Street, Wilmington, NC 28403.
