PATRICIA ANN FINCH

Patricia Ann Finch (Pat), 74, of Wilmington, went to be with her Lord on Friday, 21 March, 2008.

She will be buried at the Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, NC in the presence of her immediate family and her pastor.

A Memorial Service to celebrate her life, which will be officiated by Pastor Ken Gourlay, will be held at Whispering Pines Baptist Church at 6547 Carolina Beach Road at 3 p.m. on Saturday, 29 March.

The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall immediately following the service.

Pat was the daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. William Roberts of Raleigh, with whom she lived until 1956.

She is survived by her loving husband Ken, daughter Sonja and her husband Greg, and son Steve and his wife Melanie, son Tom; and by grandchildren Anna Squires, Grace Horrell, Jeremy, Jeanette, and Julianna Biggerstaff, and Thomas J. and Christopher Finch; and by two great-grandchildren: Jackson and Adrian Squires.

Pat served her Lord Jesus Christ as a renowned church pianist for nearly every year of her life since she was sixteen years old. As an Army wife, she was an inspiration to untold numbers of people on three continents with her piano virtuosity and her pleasant and loving persona, and by her avowed love and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who was fiercely loyal to her family and who never failed to point to the Lord for guidance and grace in times of difficulty or stress. Her soft and loving nature were a testament to those around her and she will be sorely missed.

The family wants to thank Doctor ‘G’ and his compassionate and caring staff at the Zimmer Cancer Center who provided highly professional care and compassion during her valiant battle; and her immediate family is especially indebted to the wonderful and loving staff at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice & Life Care Center.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Zimmer Cancer Center, 2131 South 17th Street, Wilmington, NC 28401; or to the Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 2222 South 17th Street, Wilmington, NC 28401
