Patricia (Pat) Ann Chaco, age 71 of Leland, NC, passed with loved ones at her bedside at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare in Wilmington, NC on July 16, 2022.

Pat was born on April 17, 1951 in Bridgeport, CT to Andrew L. and Grace Perka.

Pat was a Special Education Instructor for 35 years in Cheshire, CT, followed by several years as a Special Education Evaluator. She was an avid reader and could be found every week at the Leland Public Library perusing the shelves for her next read. Pat was also known as a master knitter and quilter. When she wasn’t reading or crafting, she was travelling the world, with one of her favorite destinations being South Africa. Pat will be missed by all that knew and loved her.

Pat is survived by her husband of nearly 50 years Cyril Chaco, as well as many other extended family members and friends. She is predeceased by her brother James Perka.

There will be a Memorial Gathering for Pat on Saturday, July 23, 2022 from 9:30am to 10:30am at Wilmington Funeral & Cremation – Leland Chapel. There will be a reception to follow at 3033 & 3037 Eno Lane in Leland. All are welcome to attend.

Donations may be made in Pat’s honor and memory to the Salvation Army.
