Patricia Butler Fogleman, 91, passed away on March 14, 2024 in Wilmington, NC. She was born the younger child of Floyd A. Butler and Esther Smith Ormsby in Grays Creek, NC. She was preceded in death by her husband, S. H. “Jim” Fogleman, Jr, her parents, her step-father, John G. Ormsby, and her brother, Robert M. Butler.

After graduation from Campbell College High School, Pat was employed as an administrative assistant by the Chamber of Commerce of Fayetteville, NC. She married and raised her family moving often for Jim’s career. Once her children were older, she studied business and real estate at Alamance Community College, and from 1975 until 1993 she held administrative assistance and grant- writing positions in various departments of the UNC-CH School of Medicine.

Pat enjoyed retirement years in Wilmington fully engaging in her church and varied volunteer activities. She was an accomplished homemaker and gardener, and she adored her canines Buddy, Katie, and Bonnie. Pat was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She and Jim considered family their greatest treasure and delighted in special occasions and family gatherings.

She is survived by her four children, Kathi Fogleman of Southport, NC; S. H. “Jim” Fogleman, III (Mary Edna) of Raleigh, NC; David Fogleman (Marty) of Wilmington, NC; and Scott Fogleman (Tami) of Myrtle Beach, SC. She was blessed with six grandchildren and to date nine great-grandchildren.

A celebration of her life will be held later in the Spring.

The family is grateful for the consummate, compassionate care of Dr. Leo Warshauer and staff, and to the providers and caregivers of Novant Health- NHRMC, Lower Cape Fear LifeCare, and the Davis Community.
