Patricia Mae Berry Lammert, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, peacefully passed away on August 7, 2023, in Wilmington, North Carolina.
She was born on July 1, 1941, in Mexico, Missouri, and was the daughter of James Caleb Berry and Wilma Mae Sims Berry. Patricia lived a life devoted to family, community, and the pursuit of knowledge.
Throughout her life, Patricia displayed an unwavering commitment to making a difference in her community. She was an active member of the Bald Head Island Conservancy, where she tirelessly worked to preserve and protect the natural beauty of Bald Head Island, North Carolina. Her dedication to protecting the loggerhead turtle exemplified her deep love and appreciation for nature.
Patricia’s faith was an integral part of her life, and she was a cherished member of the Pine Valley Methodist Church in Wilmington, North Carolina. Her spiritual journey brought her solace and strength, and she shared her faith with those around her, inspiring others to seek a higher purpose.
Above all, Patricia cherished her role as a loving wife and mother. She shared sixty beautiful years of marriage with her devoted husband, Lawrence Leo Lammert. Together, they built a strong and nurturing home filled with love, joy, and laughter. Patricia’s boundless love extended to her children, Jeff Lammert and Brent Lammert, his wife Julia, and their families. She adored her grandchildren: Taylor, his wife Meredith, Madelyn, her fiancé Tala, A.J., Ally, and Jack. She treasured every moment spent with them, never missing an opportunity to bake them her legendary chocolate chip cookies. Patricia’s legacy lives on through her great-grandson, Theodore Carrel-Lammert, who will forever carry a piece of her loving spirit.
In addition to her immediate family, Patricia is survived by her sister, Peggy Craven, and her husband, Robert, and their family of Excelsior Springs, Missouri. Their bond was unbreakable, and their memories together are cherished treasures.
A celebration of Patricia’s life will be held on September 15th at 2 pm at Pine Valley Methodist Church, 3788 Shipyard Blvd, Wilmington, NC 28403; there will be a reception after the service in the fellowship hall at the church .
Though Patricia may no longer be with us physically, her spirit will forever shine brightly in our hearts. May her beautiful soul rest in eternal peace.
