Memorial Gifts & Donations

Tricia was born in Utica, NY on September 30,1954. She passed away peacefully on August 31, 2021 after having been diagnosed with cancer in June.

Tricia received her Registered Nursing degree from St. Joseph School of Nursing in Syracuse , NY in 1976 and followed that with her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from SUNY Utica in 1978.
Tricia moved to Boston, MA just after the Boston Blizzard of 1978 and began her nursing career at Boston’s Beth Israel Hospital from which she retired after 40 years. Beth Israel is known for it’s emphasis on nursing in providing patient care and for Tricia, nursing was indeed a career, not just a job.

Tricia and her husband Steven, of 37 years, retired and moved to Wilmington, NC in 2018 where they reside in a beautiful golf community.

Tricia was an avid golfer, boasting a hole in one and, much to Steven’s chagrin, way more trophy hardware. She also enjoyed the sun and beach, gardening and traveling.

Tricia is survived by her husband Steven, her 97 year old mother Ellen Doyle Petell, and three brothers: Michael(Dorothy) of Edgartown, MA, Paul (Patty) of Whitesboro, NY, and Mark (Laura) of New Hartford, NY. Tricia truly loved, and was loved by, her 9 nieces and nephews.

Everyone that ever spent time with Tricia will be able to recall a cherished time and/ or adventure.

Please keep her in your hearts for awhile.

A celebration of Tricia’s life will be planned for a later date.
