Paul Andrew Gradish, 83, of Little River, SC died Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center, Wilmington, NC from complications of pneumonia.
Born in Edenborn, PA, he moved to Little River in 2001. He was an Army veteran, serving in the Pacific and a retired railroad engineer at US Steel, Lorain (Ohio) Works.
He enjoyed his retirement after spending most of his life in Lorain, then building a home in Willard, Ohio before moving to Little River. He was a life member of the American Legion Post 514 Willard, OH. Life Member AMVETS Lorain Post 47, an 55 Year member of the United Transportation Union.
Survivors include his wife of 17 years, Josephine of Little River; stepchildren Tom Oney and wife Judy of Little River, Greg Oney and wife Vickie or Salinas, CA, Phillip Oney and wile Jennifer of Monterey, CA, and Pamela Squires, Elyria, OH; eleven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren; brother John G. Gradish of Elyria; sisters Margaret Staszak of Vermilion, OH; Elizabeth Osko of Pennsylvania and Mary Dembinski of Lorain, OH; sister-in-law, Ann Gradish, Palm Harbor FL; nieces Jean Stashick of Amherst, OH, Susan Costello of Eagle River, AK, Linda Altimus of Indianapolis, IN. He was preceded in death by sisters Agnes Garcia, Elsie Mae Gradish and brother Raymond Gradish.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
