Perry Jefferson Whitman, III, 57, of Rocky Point, NC was called home to be with our Lord and Savior on Friday, June 28, 2013.
Perry, also known as Jeff, was born in Trenton, NJ on June 24, 1956 to his loving parents Perry, Jr. and Sandra Whitman.
Jeff married his beloved wife, Ellen Preo Whitman on December 14, 1996.
Jeff was a dedicated employee of International Paper in Riegelwood, NC, for 37 years.
All who knew Jeff, know of his great love of family and friends; his loving, caring ways, and ability to always be ready to lend a helping hand.
Jeff’s love of his horses and riding helped to earn him the nickname of Snowy River. Jeff was also an avid Harley Davidson rider. He especially enjoyed time spent with his “Harley family”. Jeff will always be remembered for his love of cooking, “special sauce”, and pig pick in’s.
Jeff is survived by his loving wife, Ellen and daughters April, Michelle, Lauren, and son-in-law, Barry. He was blessed with 5 loving grandchildren, Milia Boling, Alex Hall, Keith Antrican, Liam Hall, and Sadie Hall. Jeff is also survived by his parents, Perry and Sandra Whitman, brothers David and Dennis Whitman, sister Theresa Nabours (Clint); along with sisters in law Maryanne Jarrell (Donald), Jeanne Preo (Bill Kramer), Susan Northrop (James), brother in law Bill Preo (Kathy) and in-laws George and Barbara Preo. He will be greatly missed by his many adoring nieces and nephews as well as his many cousins.
The family will receive friends for a celebration of Jeff’s life on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Wilmington Funeral and Cremation.
