Phillip Leroy Koester, “Uncle Phil”

Phillip Leroy Koester, “Uncle Phil”, of Winnabow, NC, died Monday, November 1, 2010, at Brunswick Cove Nursing Home, Winnabow, NC.

He was born in Indianapolis, IN, on February 13, 1948, the son of the late Glenn and Beulah (Buckner) Koester and was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Eugene Koester, and a sister, Phyllis Winkeler,

Phil enjoyed life, loved laughter and practical jokes, a very honest man who loved to make children laugh. Phil enjoyed the simple things in life and had the knack to make you aware of the value of life. He enjoyed food an had a passion for coconut pie.

Surviving are: two daughters, Pamela and Spring, a sister, Joyce Annie Spencer and husband Alfred of Leland, NC, and a brother-in-law, Arthur H. Winkeler of Leland, NC, and several nieces and nephews who he loved dearly.

The family will receive friends on Friday, November 26, 2010, with a visitation from 3-4 pm and a memorial service at 4 pm, at Village Road Memorial Chapel, 525 Village Road, Leland, NC.

    Out of all my aunts and uncles Uncle Phil will always have a special place in my heart.oh boy did he like the band "Rush" especially 2112 we we"d put that tape in his 74 Ford LTD and we would both sing until our voices were sore.
