Memorial Gifts & Donations

Racheal Diane Allen, 41, died Friday, June 26, 2020 in Winston-Salem, NC. Racheal was born on February 12, 1979 in Wilmington, NC. She was predeceased by her mother Celeste Diane Powell; paternal grandmother, Beulah “Boots” Clark Allen and maternal grandparents: Robert and Barbara Powell.

Racheal is survived by her son: Wiley Walter Ywaskevic and daughter: Adriana Diane Smith; father and stepmother, Mark Keith and Charla Ellington Allen; her brother, Bradley Keith Allen, her companion, Jeffrey Kent Smith; sister, Jill Marie Allen; paternal grandparents: Edward Odell and Bonnie Raynor Allen and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Racheal was an avid beach goer who loved the surf and sand; enjoyed fishing and loved music and entertaining. She loved cooking and trying new recipes. She enjoyed crafting. She had a love and obsession for shoes, especially high heels and Nike AirMax, the pink ones.
Her greatest accomplishment though were her two children. She loved coloring with them and doing tiktok dances. She loved playing jokes like spreading icing on their faces while making cupcakes. She enjoyed taking them to the swimming pool and watching them play.

She was the first grandchild on both sides of the family and with that came the privilege of being spoiled. She once went shopping with her late grandmother (at about 5 years old) and while doing so looked up at her and said “nanny you have two different shoes on” and that is where the obsession with shoes started. She was also called “angel number one” by her paternal grandmother.

Racheal shared a special bond with her sister Jill. One that could only be described as a “twinning”, but they were not twins. They recently spent some much-needed time together and we are thankful for that.

We have lost a daughter, mother, sister, companion, cousin, aunt, granddaughter, and friend. She will be greatly missed.

    Cindy Goodwyn (Nana) says:
I know you and your Mom are listening to Journey and dancing together. I'm sure, at first, she was upset with you for being there way too soon. You will be missed by so many. We love you. We will take care of Wiley and Adriana. ..."the word is on the street that the fire in your heart is out" but your light will shine in our hearts forever.

Mark I am so sorry for your loss I know how you feel and how bad it hurts we lost our baby about 12 years ago due to the same thing he was 24 I can't say it'll get easier all I can say is you will start accepting that but you just learned to bring them into your life by talking about it even if its 12:15 years later you bring them into your life talk about things they used to do that were funny or sweet that's like I remember when Rachel was born at Cape Fear Hospital I still remember that night but it it won't get easier but it will get better because she was your first born about my mom and my sympathy Wendy
