Randall E. “Tank” Thompson

Randall E. Thompson, affectionately known as Tank, passed away on September 11, 2023, in his hometown of Wilmington, NC. He was born on December 8, 1957, making him 65 years old at the time of his passing.

Tank was a man who cherished his family and friends above all else. He had a knack for keeping things simple and finding joy in the little pleasures of life. One of his favorite pastimes was indulging in delicious meals at Rucker Johns, where he would savor every bite.

Tank proudly served his country as a Navy Veteran, demonstrating his unwavering dedication and commitment to his fellow countrymen. His service was a testament to his strong character and sense of duty.

He is survived by his loving mother, Shirley Thompson, and his father, George Thompson. Tank also leaves behind his brother Richard Thompson and his wife Teresa, as well as his two sisters, Terry Thompson and Mary Thompson. Additionally, he is fondly remembered by his niece and nephew.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Greenlawn Cemetery, where Tank will be laid to rest. This gathering will provide an opportunity for family, friends, and loved ones to come together and pay their final respects to a man who touched their lives in countless ways.

Tank’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. May he find eternal peace and tranquility.
