Reggie Wayne Rathburn, Sr., 55, of Florence, SC, formerly of Leland, NC, went Home to be with the Lord Saturday, December 6, 2014 at his residence. Born in Augusta, GA, November 12, 1959, a son of James Vernon Rathburn and the late Mary India Smith Rathburn of Easley, SC, Reggie was a 1978 graduate of North Brunswick High School. He was a member of Peace Freewill Baptist Church and employed at Flowserve Corporation. Reggie lived his faith in God daily and was a blessing to many. Together with his father, surviving are his wife, Pepper, and their children, Jasmine, Reggie Jr., Matthew, Ezekiel, and Joanna; a brother, Dean Rathburn and wife, Allyson, of Leland NC, their two sons, DJ and Joshua; a sister, Joanie Scruggs and husband, Terry, of Easley, SC; and mother-in-law, Renee Clements. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Wilmington Funeral & Cremation Village Road Chapel, 525 Village Road, Leland, NC 28451. A service to celebrate Reggie’s life will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at Long Leaf Baptist Church, 317 Shipyard Blvd., Wilmington, NC 28412, with Pastor Eugene Ridley officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Kings Cemetery.     I am so sorry to hear that Reggie has passed. He was a good man and a dear friend of my children for many years. I know that he is with our Lord's Home.
