Reverend Harold Manning 89, formerly of Wilmington passed away Saturday July 8, 2017 at The Villages Florida where he has made his home for the past 3 years.

Harold was born in Fulton County, PA on August 17, 1927 the son of the late Elwood and Estella Holt Manning. He was preceded in death by his wife E. Regina (Jean) McCusker Manning in 2007.

Harold graduated from Hampton-Sidney College in 1967 and Union Seminary in Richmond, and before his calling to ministry he was the owner and operator of a plumbing & heating business with Johnson Control in Hagerstown, MD.

After his calling into the ministry in 1968 he was lead to Presbyterian churches in Winchester, Va., Richmond, VA., Castle Hayne, NC.,  Chase City, Va., and Wylliesburg, VA.,. Harold and his wife Jean retired to Wilmington in 1994 and at the time was lead to Oak Grove Presbyterian Church, where he pastored until 2014.

Surviving are a son Todd Manning and wife Kara of Fort Lauderdale, FL., daughter Rebecca M. Gibson and husband Maxie of The Villages, FL., sister Effie M. Ward of Hancock, MD. Two grandsons Michael and Brian Gibson and three great-children Grace, Ella and Rory Gibson.

Graveside funeral service will be conducted 11:00 AM Wednesday July 12, 2017 at Greenlawn Memorial Park with Reverend Robert C. Bankhead officiating the service.

The family will see friends from 6:00 PM until 7:30 PM Tuesday evening at Wilmington Funeral Chapel.
