Reverend Harold Ray Crocker

Rev. Harold R. Crocker passed away peacefully at Davis Health Care Center on Sunday, May 17, 2009.   He was a loving Husband and Friend, a Hero to his daughter and sons, a hilarious Grandfather, a caring Brother and Godly Pastor and Mentor.

Rev. Crocker served the congregation of Living Water Ministries at Ogden for 40 years, retiring at the end of 2003 to fulfill 50 years in ministry.  He also served Advent Christian Churches in Lenoir, NC and Eau Gallie, FL.  He was active in the community serving as chaplain in the fire department, and in helping to found the Wilmington Ministerial Association. Rev. Crocker served in many denominational and conference positions and was instrumental in establishing Camp Dixie in its current location near Fayetteville, and directed youth camps there for many years.
He was a familiar face in area hospitals and civic events, and was a comfort and friend to many.

Rev. Crocker was preceded in death by parents, Albert, Sr. and Beatrice Crocker and older brother, Albert (Dick) Crocker, Jr. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Virginia Crocker; a daughter, Sherri Farrow and husband Mike; and 2 sons, Gary and wife Amy, and Rick; and 3 grandsons, Alex Farrow and Weston and Dalton Crocker, all of Wilmington; in addition to a loving extended family of brothers, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Harold was born in Medford, MA, graduated from New England School of Theology in Brookline, MA where he met “Ginny”, the love of his life.   While there he committed to a life calling in service of his Savior and Lord Jesus Christ.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2009 at 4 pm at Northside Baptist Church, 2501 N. College Rd, Wilmington, NC.  The Crocker family greatly appreciates the generosity of our friends at Northside in offering the use of their facilities.
