Rhonda Lerae Taylor

September 9, 1963 - September 2, 2019
Rhonda Lerae Taylor

Rhonda LeRae (Clemmons) Taylor, 55, of Wilmington, passed away Monday, September 2, 2019 after a long and brave eight year battle with breast cancer. She passed away peacefully at her home in the loving arms of her husband and daughter surrounded by family and her fur babies while in the care of Lower Cape Fear Hospice.

Rhonda was born September 9, 1963 in Wilmington, NC to father Raiford Allen Clemmons, who preceded her in death, and mother Emma Jane (Barnes) Clemmons.

She is survived by her husband, Francis (Frank) Barton Taylor Jr.; her daughter, Shenelle Nan Taylor; her mother, Emma Jane (Barnes) Clemmons; and many wonderful cousins, aunts, uncles and in-laws.

To all who knew her, she was a beautiful ray of sunshine. She was the most giving, loving, bubbly, giggly, and easy-going person anyone could have ever met. Her brilliant blue eyes and smile could light up any room. She gave the best hugs. The best wife, mother, daughter, friend and cat-lady. She was immensely loved by many and her love ran deep for all those lucky to have been in her life.

To uphold Rhonda’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. Her wish was for all her family and friends to come together to celebrate her life. The Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Rhonda’s name to her favorite non-profit organization by donating to Cat Tails Cat Adoption Service, 6622 Beach Drive, Ocean Isle Beach, NC 28469 or cattails.org/donate.

Frank and Shenelle, the time that Rhonda spent working beside me was a cherished time for me. The miles between us never lessened my appreciation for the precious soul that she was. Love and hugs to you both in this tragic time.
