Richard Earl Dauphinais

Memorial Gifts & Donations

Richard Earl Dauphinais, 69, went to be with our heavenly father on August 1, 2023 peacefully at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare. Richard fought a long, hard battle with cancer. He is now rejoicing and whole in the arms of our Lord. To know Richard was to love him. He was kind, generous, and had a heart of gold. He loved his family deeply and will truly be missed.

Richard is survived by his daughter, Andrea Etheridge (Charles); grandchildren, Kristen, Jaley, Adam, Abigail, Kaylee, and Jaiden; great-grandchildren, Remy, Coraline, and Ophelia; a very special niece, Ann Marie Moure (Brian), along with many other nieces, nephews, brothers and sister.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Dauphinais and Nellie Skipper Dauphinais; and daughters, Cynthia Dauphinais and Sonia Thornton.

To Richard’s very special friends, Steve and Denise Stady, he loved you dearly and we all appreciate you being there for him every step of the way. Thank you to the wonderful staff at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare: home side nurses and care center staff. He was provided with the utmost dignity and care in the last stages of his life.

A gathering of friends will be held Saturday August 19, 2023 from 2:00 to 3:00 pm at Wilmington Funeral & Cremation.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Lower Cape Fear LifeCare or St. Jude’s Children’s Research.

He was a thoughtful and sharing person. He was a laughing person we did have some times at the ball fields and when we would see each other. Always a kind hello. Good thoughts of Richard.
