Richard “Pop-Pop” was born June 22 1925 in Albany, New York. As a member of “The Greatest Generation” he was a WWII USMC South Pacific Theater Veteran. Richard was a Recipient of the Bronze Star and a Purple Heart. Much thanks for your service. After his military service he worked as a funeral director in Albany, NY. As years passed he retired settling with his family in Carolina Beach. He will be remembered for his superior intellect and quick wit. Great granddaughter Shauna Ruefle and three nieces on the West Coast, Susan, Nancy and Karen. His faithful pets and companions Sheba and Bellow.

I was sad to hear of Pop-Pops passing. Will miss talking junk about Dawn to him, on the phone at work. I could never get him to agree or disagree with anything I said. Very smart man he was.
