Richard Keith White, age 56 of Hampstead, NC passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at home embraced by his family.

He was born in Shreveport, LA on March 28, 1961. Richard was a proud veteran of the US Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1984. Addtionally, he enjoyed a long career as a truck driver, most recently for Jordan Logistics, Inc.

He was preceded in death by his father Harry Charles White and is survived by his wife, Suzanne Pope White; his daughters: Amanda Michelle Pigford, her husband Corey and Alicia Marie Wells, her husband Kevin, both of Burgaw; his mother and step-father, Johnnie Elaine Weems and William Earl Weems of LA; step-children: Robert, Jimmy, John, Sarah; brothers: Charles Randall White of Hot Springs, AR, John Eric Weems of Natchitoches, LA, and William Alan Weems of Provencal, LA; grandchildren: Braxton, Ashton, Tristan, Austin, Tori, Kristina; step-grandchildren: Felicity, Alyssa, Sarah-Beth, Seth, Justin, Jenna, Shelby, Caleb, Parker, Matthew. Also a large extended family and friends; and his beloved dogs: “Hawkins” and “Dude”.

The family will receive friends at Wilmington Funeral Chapel on Wednesday September 6, 2017 from 4 to 6 p.m. with funeral services beginning at 6 p.m.

Burial, with military honors, will be at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, NC on Thursday, September 7,at 12 noon.

    I just heard about Rick, I am so sorry. I will miss his smile and his the way he could always make me feel better when I didn't feel really feel like it. The last time I got to see him was at Aunt Pat's wake, I will cherish that time. Suzy and all the kids and grandkids know I will be praying for you in the days ahead. Nobody will ever take my favorite cuz place or the love I had for him.
