Richard L. Harris, a beloved husband, and father, passed away on November 17, 2023, in Wilmington, North Carolina. He was born on June 19, 1938, in Wendell, NC. At the time of his passing, Richard was 85 years old.

Richard dedicated his professional life to the field of accounting as a Certified Public Accountant. His expertise and commitment were highly regarded by colleagues and clients alike. Throughout his career, Richard demonstrated utmost professionalism and integrity, leaving a lasting impact on the profession.

Richard was an active member and a Past Master of the Federal Point Masonic Lodge #753 A.F. & A.M., where he currently served as Treasurer. His dedication to the lodge and its members was admirable, and he took great pride in being part of such a respected organization. Additionally, Richard was a graduate of UNC Wilmington, further showcasing his lifelong pursuit of knowledge and personal growth.

Richard will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his loving parents, Hyman and Lerlene Harris. Richard’s memory will forever be cherished by his wife, Polly Buck Harris, and their son, Bobby Joe Harris.

A memorial service to honor Richard’s life will be held at 11 am on Saturday, November 25, 2023, at the Federal Point Masonic Lodge #753 located at 417 Harper Avenue in Carolina Beach, NC 28428.

The family kindly requests memorial gifts be made to The Masonic Home for Children at Oxford, located at 600 College Street, Oxford, NC 27565.

Richard’s legacy of dedication, kindness, and professionalism will continue to inspire all those fortunate enough to have known him. May he rest in peace.
