saddened today for the loss of my friend Rick. we knew each other for 40+ years. I have fond memories of hunting, fishing, working with and vacationing with Rick, Connie, Heather and Sherry at Wrightsville Beach. Rick was an excellent fisherman and never turned down anyone with a question about fishing. He enjoyed helping people. Rick loved his family and friends and we loved him. we will miss him; seeing his face and hearing his voice and listening him talk about his grand puppies. he loved those labs. Bev and are I thinking of you Connie and girls. May the Lord be with you all and comfort you through this difficult time.

Rick was one of the kindest men I have ever known. We fished together on Jolly Rogers Pier for years and he was a man full of good fishing tales. I think he enjoyed talk as much as he did fishing. He would give you anything or make a rig for you to try and they always worked. He had a love for young fishermen and shared his knowledge with them. In fact, as his disease sapped his body of strength and he could not fish anymore, he gave his fishing equipment to young men on the pier as he wanted them to be successful and to love fishing as much as he did. Thanks Rick for your friendship and many words of kindness. I will miss you as will many others. It is good to know that your ashes will be with the depth of the ocean and you probably will be sharing your tales with the fish. Rest well my dear friend.
