Richard Michael Pfeiffer, 68, of Wilmington NC died on August 15, 2021 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born on December 10, 1952 in Syracuse, NY to Richard Pfeiffer and Dorothy (Frank) Pfeiffer. He resided in Syracuse NY until moving to Wilmington NC in 2005.
Besides his wife, Jennifer (Baird) Pfeiffer, he is survived by his daughters Maria Killius (Paul); Trisha Pfeiffer; step daughters, Amanda Connor (Greg) and Elizabeth Cardamone (Christian), and self adopted daughter Leighanne Barrigar; one son, Richard G. Pfeiffer; grandchildren Aaron Spencer, Penelope and Zoe Connor and Amelia Jean Lobough; sister, Judy Bonawicz (Mike); brothers, David Pfeiffer (Karen) and Robert Pfeiffer (Tina); and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his previous wife Marion “Mimi” Gromny Pfeiffer, his parents, sister, Debbie Pfeiffer and sister, Donna Desantols (Al).
Rick was employed by Chrysler at the age of 19 and retiring after 30 years at Chrysler at the age of 49. He was a member of the UAW. He was a master woodworker and made many pieces of furniture for family and friends. He also loved working in his yard and then sitting back and enjoying the fruits of his hard work. He took great pride in his beautiful yard and enjoyed entertaining at the pool.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 27, 2021, 2:00 PM, at the Wilmington Chapel. The family respectfully requests that all attendees to the service be in compliance with the North Carolina State mandate for wearing masks and bring their own with them. It is much appreciated.
