Rita Clare Blomquist, of Hampstead, NC died at home August 4, 2011 at the age of 76.

Rita Clare was born December 15, 1934 in Elizabeth, NJ and graduated from St. Patrick’s School in Elizabeth, married, and began a family.

Surviving are her four children, James Salinger, Robert Salinger, June Harris, and William Salinger, ten grandchildren and one great grandchild.

She was a proud member of the Women of the Moose of Palm Beach County, Florida. After her children were grown she worked in accounting. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family. Rita Clare will be remembered for her no nonsense, down to earth personality and her wonderful sense of humor.

There will be a private memorial service.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 1414 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401.

    My heart goes out to the family, such a great loss and fine woman as Rita. We worked at Jonathan's Landing together and I will never forget that laugh, great smile and twinkling blue eyes. I remember she once told me "that I can make things as difficult as I want to make them and to get over it" and I brought that thought with me to this day. She left a lasting impression on me and I know that she will be missed by so many. Dance with the Angels Rita!

    I am so sorry to hear about Rita. I knew Rita from the Palm Beach Gardens Moose Lodge where she was a member. I am also a member of the Women of the Moose and a former volunteer bartender. My heart, thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Rita was a very nice person. She will be missed.
