Barkman family, I was saddened to hear of Bobs unexpected passing. Bob and I came on The same class together, on the fire dept.and never saw that much of Bob after we became Firefighters . Guess he started studying to become a Chief, not me. 63 years is way to soon to leave this life, however Bob passed without a long illness or being confined to a bed in his later years, just The way I hope to do it, when my time comes. Rest in peace Bob, you earned it.0

I'm so sorry to hear of the passing of Bob. He was a great person and very well respected. The Toledo Fire Dept. was a better place to work if you had the opportunity to work with him! He will be missed by many, but his memory will live on. My prayers go out to you. My sincere sympathy.

Bob and I came on the job together in 1972 and I was fortunate enough to work together with him as Battalion Chiefs. I was surprised and saddened to learn of his loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you and I am sure you will cherish the thousands of good memories of Bob.
