Robert Daniel Thomas of Wilmington, N.C. passed away at home on Friday, December 14, 2007 after a lengthy illness.
He was born in Alfarata, Pa. in 1923 and served in the Army Air Corps in the South Pacific during World War II. Mr. Thomas graduated with a Master of Science Degree from Bucknell University in 1950 and worked as an engineer for Corning Glass Works in Corning, N.Y., Bradford, Pa., and Wilmington, N.C. Mr. Thomas retired from Corning Glass in 1983 in Wilmington. He also retired from the US Air Force Reserves as a Lt. Colonel the same year.
Mr. Thomas is survived by his wife, Lucille, three daughters, one son and four grandchildren.
