    Coy Elwood Whitman says:
I have the pleasure of seeing "Roc" at out last Pi Kappa Phi Gamma Theta social. We all change but it took me 15 minutes to recognize Roc with his beard. It was when I was facing away from him that I heard his laugh and knew it was my best "pledge buddy" and dear friend. My life was enriched by Roc and his stories and adventures while at then Wilmington College. My God have mercy on this gentile man.

    Dick Powell says:
Roc was one of the nicest people to ever put on a pair of shoes. He was kind, compassionate, and "always had time for you". After God gave Roc his laugh, he broke the laugh mold and thus keeping Roc a singular original. I heaven laughter abounds.

    Gary Chadwick says:
Roc was one of my "top 10" all time favorite people. He and I shared many a laugh, many a beer, and many thoughtful conversations during our active fraternity days. Fortunately I was able to spend quite a bit of time and catch up with him at the reunion in Raleigh. It was like we had never missed a beat. It makes that reunion all the more special because of our time together there. Thanks again to all of you who helped put it together. I can't make it to visitation but hope to see many of you at the funeral.
