Robert H. Summer

Robert H. Summer age 63, a 25 year resident of Wilmington, NC formerly of Lexington, SC passed away Friday, September 17, 2010 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center after a battle with cancer.

A graveside funeral service will be conducted 12:00 Noon Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Reverend Billy Cooper with officiate the service.

Robert was born February 28, 1947 the son of the late Daniel and Rosalee Holley Summer. His sister Irene Smith, and brothers Bennie Lee and Edward Summer preceded him in death.

Surviving are his wife Linda Blake and daughter Nicole Summer of Lexington, SC, son Shannon Summer and wife Chasity of Leesville, SC, brothers and sisters Hazel Connelly of Marietta GA, Elizabeth Clamp and husband Herbert of Gilbert SC, Brenda Shealy and husband Jefff, and Wanda Stamps of W. Columbia, SC, Johnnie Summer of Gilbert SC and a step-son Joseph Wayne Blake of Wilmington, six grandchildren also survive, along with his best friend and fishing buddy Rod Bierstedt who was always at his side.

Special thanks to his caregivers Jay Balcomb and Annette Dumber for all their love and support.

The family will see friends 6:30 until 8:00 PM Monday at Wilmington Burial and Cremation Service.
