I loved the heart of my classmate and friend . We entered many battles together on the Football and Baseball field from the eight grade through the 12 grade. A Spiritual Warrior. You will be missed. Your smile always illuminated the halls of Hoggard and the locker room. You have crossed the goal line for the final touchdown and arrived on the field of Champions.

Robert Robert. I miss you and will celebrate all the living you gave those who knew and love you. You just had to have the last word ~ we grew up together, and you were the first friend Stewart, Jim and I met when moved from Chicago to Wilmington in the 6th grade. I remember looking out for Judi when you and Thomas would come swim or hang out with me, Stewart, and Jim... We will see you on the other side my dear friend. I wish we were not so far away during your battle (tho' never far in heart). I will remember all the smiles, fun, and joy you filled our lives with at Hoggard, Sunset, and through out the years as we would pass during our lives in Wilmington. I remember one time seeing you at McDonalds while I was ordering food for my 4 children, and I introduced you as one of my brothers from another mother because you always are. This world will not be the same without you. I know you are now comforted and we will always remember the 'you' put into all those whose lives you touched. And this is where my prayer begins for those of us left to carry the flame. Here's to you, ROBERT ~ THE BEST.

Mr. Kepner was a great man, my husband Tim & I had the great pleasure of caching our boys along with him while at Cape Fear Optimist 2008-2012 or so. My heart aches for The Kepner family. Josh I'm so sorry for your loss, your dad was a wonderful gentle man. We had a lot of fun times during practices, games, and all stars. May God grant you the mercy and grace to allow others to comfort you during this time. Our prayers are with you and your family. Love, "Coach" Tangela & "Coach" Tim

Robert and I went to John T Hoggard together (Class of '81). I have very fond memories of walking into the Voyager chorus room and hearing Robert singing Eagles songs - harmonizing with a few of the guys. His voice and big heart brought smiles and joy to many. I am so sorry for your loss and keeping the Kepner family in my prayers. God bless!
