Robert Lyle Flynt age 81 of Maco Road in Leland passed away Friday, November 19, 2021 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

Robert was born in Laurel, Mississippi to Ernest Arnold Flynt and Annie Grace Wilson Flynt.

Robert was a veteran of the US Air Force and was retired from International Paper Company. He was a member of New Hope Presbyterian Church in Winnabow.

Survived by his wife, Charlotte Ann Matthews Flynt; son Winston and daughter Pennie and other extended family members. Preceded in death by daughters Melanie and Ramona.

Visitation for family and friends will be 5-7 Monday, November 22, 2021 at Wilmington Funeral & Cremation Village Road Chapel-Leland.

Graveside funeral service will be held 2 pm Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at New Hope Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Winnabow.

    Uncle Robert was always kind and fun. What I remember most was his love for old cars. He would scour the woods and look for forgotten vehicles to rescue. I wish I had spent more time with him and had half his knowledge of the Vintage years of the Automobile.

    Saddened to learn of Robert's death. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Dolores Brown Flynt, who was the mother of their three children, Winston, Pennie, and Melanie (deceased). Dolores was my sister.
