Rochelle Corbett Watson, age 76, of Leland was granted her angel wings on December 14, 2014.

Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that she touched in some special way throughout her very memorable life.

Rochelle was born to the late Alva and J.N Corbett. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Emmett G. Watson Sr.; son, James “Dewey” Watson; and great grandchild, Bailey River Kerns.

Rochelle was a longtime active member of Wilmington First Church of Nazarene where she served on the board, was secretary, in choir and numerous other roles. She was employed with New Hanover Medical Group as a switch board operator.
She enjoyed cooking, spending time with family and friends, walking the beach, clamming and going to yard sales.

Rochelle will be remembered forever by her devoted children, Emmett Watson Jr. (Kelly) and Denise Leonard (George); loving sister, Grace Johnson (Lacy); daughter-in-law, Betty Sue Watson, treasured grandchildren, Jeffrey Warner (Julie), Donald Williams, Krystal Kerns (Jason) Anderia Watson, Bud Watson, Bryan Leonard, Stephen Watson, Emmett “Trey” Watson III, Eric Watson; beloved great grandchildren, Aydean, Rachel, Wyatt, Colton, Weston, Michael, Valeney, Will, Hunter, Amy and Hannah Rae; and children that held a special place in her heart, Alex, Gracie, Elizabeth and Raelyn; and countless other friends and family whom were blessed to know her.

Rochelle touched the lives of many people with her smile, kindness and generosity.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at the SECU Hospice House in Bolivia for the care and comfort they provided.

The family will receive friends from 5:00PM until 7:00PM Thursday, December 18, 2014 at the Wilmington Funeral Chapel. A memorial Service will be held at 7:00 PM following visitation at the chapel.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00PM Friday, December 19, 2014 at Oleander Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Church of the Nazarene, 5654 Carolina Beach Road, Wilmington, NC 28412 or the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Foundation, 1414 Physicians Drive, Wilmington NC 28401.
