Rogelio A. Acera, loving husband, good father, grandfather, father-in-law, chef, singer, and comedian, passed away peacefully in Wilmington, NC on Saturday, January 21, 2023. Born on July 22, 1946 in Iba, Zambales, Philippines to Genaro Acera and Ester Abrigo Acera.

He graduated from St. Joseph H.S. In 1964. He worked in Subic Naval Base in Naval exchange for 27 years. He migrated to the US in 1991. He continued his service and retired from West Point Academy, New York in 2015. He spent his retirement time fishing/crabbing, bowling & golfing.

Rogelio is the eldest son of 13 children. His surviving siblings: Estrelita Acera-Abad, Reynaldo A. Acera, Cecilia Acera-Dehuya, Imelda Acera, Eduardo Acera and Magdalena Acera. Rogelio is survived by his wife Alice, and his 5 children: Gilberto (wife Teresita Acera) of the Philippines, Lourdes (husband Viner Escudero) of Pennsylvania, Fredina O. Acera of New York, Annalizza (husband Ralph Valente) of New York, Leonardo (wife Erica Acera) of North Carolina. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren: Gerald, Joanna Mae Alipio, Gio Acera of Philippines, Kathryll Faye Acera-Escudero, Rafaiel Acera-Escudero, Angel M. Jimenez, Deangie Jimenez, Crisbert L. Acera, Michael Acera-Valente of New York and Leonardo T. Acera of North Carolina and numerous nieces, nephews and 4 great-grandchildren.
