Ronald Allan Neufeld, 56, died Tuesday, August 21, 2012, after a brave fight with cancer. A memorial service will be held 4 PM on Friday, August 31, 2012 at Calvary Chapel of Wilmington, 2831 Carolina Beach Road, Wilmington, NC.
Mr. Neufeld was born in Salinas, California, to the late Edwin C. Neufeld, Jr., and Mae Louise (Boots) Neufeld of Wilmington, North Carolina. He graduated in 1974 from Clayton Valley High School in Concord, California, and studied Business Management at Whitworth University in Spokane, Washington.
Mr. Neufeld was a longtime corporate leader and manager in the hospitality and restaurant industry both in the United States and Asia. He began his career with the Nordstrom restaurant division, and later played an integral role in the development and management of five-star dinner clubs for CCA International in Hong Kong and Thailand, Club Corp USA and TGI Friday’s in China, and more recently for Signature Clubs International in Dubai, UAE, and the Manet Club in Beijing, China..
Mr. Neufeld will be remembered for his gift of hospitality, love of travel and his personal talents as a chef, as well as for his love and devotion to his mother, friends and family members. He was a lifelong friend and supporter of Young Life ministries.
He is survived by his mother Boots Neufeld , aunt Penny Schardt, both of Wilmington, NC ; brothers David Neufeld of Windsor, MO; and Jeff Neufeld, of Monroe, GA; and sister Teri Neufeld of San Diego, CA, as well as by several nieces and nephews.
