Memorial Gifts & Donations

Ronald Farris West, aged 75, passed away from a brief illness on August 11th, 2018 surrounded by his loving wife and children.

He was born in Marietta, Ohio on June 27, 1943 to his late father Ivy West and late mother Edna (Harris) West.

He was preceded in death by three sisters: Eva West, Cricket Hendershot, and Dorothy Wittekind.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years Cheryl, children Tricia, Rick, Traci (Jan), Staci (Ramon), Twoe (Nancy), and DeeDee, grandchildren Marshall, Kylee, Devyn, Nico, Addi, Blakelyn, Maddox, Cori, Mariah, Alex, TJ, Johnny, Travis, and Katie, brother Cletis West and sisters Belva Strickland, and Frances (Kenny) Carver, and his adoring lap dog Izzie.
He was also lovingly adored by 10 nieces and 8 nephews.

He spent many, happy years working for Carver’s Electric/Plumbing/Heating and was a member of IBEW 972 electrical union. He enjoyed his Saturday mornings with brother Cletis and many dear friends “wheeling and dealing” at Rinky Dinks. He was known for his handiwork and was often teasingly referred to as the “Mayor of Marietta” and was well sought after for his advice. The last few years of his life were spent at the beaches of Wilmington, North Carolina to be closer to his children and grandchildren.

He will be remembered for the laughter, jokes, wit, and endless, loving teasing he blessed his entire family and friends with over the years. The gift of laughter shall always be his legacy.

So heart broken for Cheryl and her family. I know from the stories with working with Cheryl for years he was very loved and rotten... Lol. He would always make me laugh when we went out for dinner or just coming into the office to pick Cheryl up. Love to all and my deepest sympathy for the whole family.
