Ronald Harrison (Ronnie) Boyd , 80, of Masonboro passed away Sunday September 28, 2008.

He and his wife, Phyllis Elwell Boyd, were married December 15, 1950.

The couple has three children, Ronnie Max (deceased), Wayne Harrison (Marianne) of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, and Pamela Boyd Christian (Albert) of Dayton, Ohio. He is also survived by grandchildren Chris Boyd Johnson (Richard) of Wilmington, Scott Christian and Erin Christian Hamp of Ohio, and Giancarlo (Jelennie) and Patrick Pinterpe of Michigan, great grandchildren, Laura Johnson and Joshua and Marcello Pinterpe; sister Mary Speck of Ohio; and a very special friend, Jean Johnson, of Kure Beach.

Sgt. Boyd was a proud Marine serving in the US Marine Corp during the Korean Campaign as a training instructor of 90 MM guns.

Visitation and graveside military services will be held Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at 11:00 am in the Masonboro Baptist Church cemetery with Rev. Brenda Flowers officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 2222 S. 17th Street, Wilmington, NC 28401
