Memorial Gifts & Donations

Rose V. Turrisi 88, of Wilmington died Monday April 5, 2010 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

Rose was born in Isfahan, Iran, daughter of Shahnazar and Dishkoon Davidkhanian Shahnazarian. She was married to Dominick Turrisi in 1952 and became a naturalized United States citizen in 1957.

Rose and Dominick had two children: Patricia, who resides in Wilmington and Robert, who resides in State College, PA.

Rose had many interests throughout her life. Rose was an accomplished seamstress and knitter who made almost all of her own clothes throughout her life. She also enjoyed gardening, playing bridge, and loved a good shopping conquest. Rose was a wonderful cook and baker. She showed her love in many ways, but she especially showed it through special dinners, cakes and cookies that she shared with her family and friends. Rose’s biggest enjoyment was the pride of her life—her children and grandchildren.

Rose is survived by her daughter, Dr. Patricia Turrisi, her husband, Dr. Dennis Fuller, and their two children, Rosa and Sophia. In addition are one son, Dr. Robert Turrisi, his wife, Lori, and their two children, Taylor and Madison.

We played bridge with Rose at several different locations and groups for the past ten years. We enjoyed visiting with her during bridge games, and also made contact by telephone from time to time. She was a good bridge player, had a good and outgoing personality, and was very proud of her family. Tom and Laura Connolly
