Memorial Gifts & Donations

Rosita Antonio Johnson, known to everyone as “Rose” loved life, her family, and her friends. She truly tried to live her life to the fullest. She was very strong willed and an upfront personality. She had a wonderful sense of humor. She loved to be outside. She enjoyed a lot of camping down on “southend” of Ft. Fisher and other outdoor activities when she was younger. She never gave up her love for fishing though. Her passion for gardening was her life before and after retiring. Her yard and flowers were and still are beautiful. Her heart was beautiful inside and out as she was always telling everyone to live their life. Not to hold back and to go after anything and everything your heart desired.

She was born in Aningway Subic, Philippines on March 25th,1942. She is the first daughter born out of nine siblings to Father, Alipio Lazo Antonio, and Mother, Augustina DeJesus Antonio.

She is survived by a loving husband of 58 years, George Avery Johnson, her only son, Andy Johnson, His wife, Candy Johnson, and two beautiful granddaughters, Haleigh and Jaiden Johnson, and many extended family members.

Rose only worked at two jobs and proudly retired from both places. She was a seamstress at France Neckware where she sewed shirts and ties for production work. After the closing of the facility, she moved on to work at COB corporation, a denture manufacturing facility, where she worked in quality control until she retired at the age of 72.

After retirement, she settled in to take care of her family and her gardening. Her other love in her life was “Sassy”, her Pomeranian that gave her 19 years of devotion. Now they are both joined together again in heaven. “What a beautiful soul, what a beautiful life, what a beautiful legacy of love” Please join us in a “Celebration of Life” graveside ceremony on Saturday, May 1st, 2021 at 11 am at Greenlawn Cemetery.

Please dress comfortably as this is what she would have wanted. Time is precious and tomorrow is never promised.
