Ruby Lewis Horsfall 92,  of Wilmington passed away Friday March 21, 2014 at SECU Hospice House of Brunswick. 

Ruby was born in Bladen County on January 12, 1922 the daughter of the late James Cleveland and Cora Jane Brisson Lewis. She attended Louisburg College and was a retired Pay Roll Clerk for Greene Tweed Company in Kulpsville, PA,  and preceded in death by a daughter Deborah Horsfall., and close cousin Mickey Curley.

Surviving are a daughter Donna Miller and husband Phillip of Boiling Springs, Linda Smith of Germany, sons Richard, Robert, and Raymond Horsfall. Four grandchildren Allen Jacob, Jason Alexander, Jamie Lynn, and Nicholas Horsfall.

A graveside funeral service will be conducted at Belleview Cemetery, 2:00 PM Sunday March 23, 2014 with the Reverend Harold Manning officiating.

    I am sorry for the loss of your dear Ruby. She sounded like a lovely woman. It may be comforting to know that the Bible gives each one of us a very real hope of actually enjoying life with our passed loved ones once again right here on this good earth. At John 5:28 and 29 Jesus himself tells us that those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out to a resurrection of life, similar to how he resurrected his friend Lazarus. Lazarus was resurrected back to life on earth, not heaven. That is in harmony with God's original purpose for humans, to "fill the earth and subdue it". (Genesis 1:28) God's purposes do not change as no one is powerful enough to make him have to change anything. To see our passed loved ones again on a beautified earth is a hope few dare to dream about, much less firmly believe in. But it is right there in every one of our Bibles.     Donna & Richie, I am so sorry...but at the same time at peace. You know how much Aunt Ruby meant (means) to us and to Mom. She was a special lady! I take comfort knowing that they are together again...probably playing Skip Bo!
