    John D Crowder says:
A visionary--focused --tenacious--very tactical--very knowledgeable in political issues--the father of the Town of Leland! If it wasn't for his vision Leland may not have formed--1989

    Niel Brooks says:
Mr. Baldwin was a visionary who helped make Leland what it is today. Without his leadership, the Town would not exist and the residents of the area would not enjoy the quality of life they do today. Mr. Baldwin's legacy will live on long after he is gone. Our thoughts are with the family.

    Jane Crowder says:
Please accept our condolences in the passing of Russell. He was the reason Leland is here today. Although there were several people involved in the establishment of the town, there is no doubt that he was the " Founding Father of Leland." Even though we will miss seeing him, his spirit will live on forever.
