Ruth Cashwell, 74, of Wilmington passed away Monday, August 14, 2017, at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice & LifeCareCenter.

Ruth was born in Harford, MD.,  December 17, 1942 the eldest daughter of the late Joseph Lee and Ada Lorraine Davis Cerny. She retired after 35 years of teaching Public School in New Hanover County, and was a faithful member of Grace Baptist Church, where she taught the Berean Fellowship class. Also preceding her in death are sisters Wanda Lorraine Hill, Deborah Anne Morrison.

Surviving are a son Brandon Cashwell and wife Jessie of Hampstead, a daughter Laura Phillips and husband Robert of Dunn, brothers Jerry DuBree & Danny DuBree and sister Sandy Hilditch of Havre de Grace, MD. Her grandchildren Trisden Phillips and Kira Cashwell.

A memorial service will be conducted 2:00 PM Sunday August  27, 2017 at Grace Baptist Church.

The family request memorials be directed to Grace Baptist Church 1401 N. College Road Wilmington, NC 28405.
