Sadie Lee Purvis

Memorial Gifts & Donations

Sadie Lee Purvis left the bonds of this earth on November 7,2021 to be joyfully reunited with family members who went before her. Sadie (or Lee to some)is survived by her children John(ny)and wife Evelyn; Bill (Bro) and wife Nancy; Bruce and wife Pat; David (Deceased) Daughter Penny; Paul and husband Marshall. and her four-legged companion Pretty girl also survives her.

Sadie was an extraordinarily attractive person all her life, known for her eye for color and ability to match outfits.

She was a southern lady to the core. She had not one but two green thumbs, able toe grow any kind of flower or bush anywhere, under any condition.

Sadie never met a stranger, and would talk to anyone, anywhere (at times to the great embarrassment of her more reserved family members)

Her passion for reading, which lasted until the end, was not stopped by her failing eyesight as long as she could find a magnifying glass strong enough.

Sadie made sure her children acquired that same love for the written word by keeping their bookshelves stocked from the moment each one learned to read.

She will be missed, but will never be forgotten.in lieu of a funeral, Mama has chosen to be cremated.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to the Pilot Club of Tarboro. Box 71, Tarboro, NC 27886
