Memorial Gifts & Donations

Sally- beloved wife,
daughter, sister, mother, aunt and
grandmama went to be with her Savior on Thursday, June 19, 2008. She meant so much to so many- especially her family.
Her primary focuses were God and
her family. Her grandchildren were her joy.

Sally’s son Walter and his wife Sandy have three of Sally’s nine grandchildren, Skellie, Elliot, and Sloan. Sally was proud
of her oldest grandson Skellie’s love for learning and his devotion to serving others
through missions. She was also
proud of her grandson Elliot and her granddaughter Sloan who often had their grandmother on the sidelines cheering them on in their soccer games and swim
meets. “Grandmama” was also a constant in her daughter Leigh and husband Buddy’s three girls’ lives. Being the first grandchild,
Mary Hayden had a special relationship that continued to grow while she was at UNCW for the last two years. Lindsay loved having her “granny” around and heard her cheering on the
sideline “Go, Consuela” as she ran cross country and track. Allison enjoyed visiting
Grandmama’s house where she often
brought many friends. They all shared Sally’s passion for painting which was often
an activity during visits.
Her daughter Lindsay and husband
Ward’s three children loved their grandmother’s fun personality. Ward loved receiving lots of letters from his Grandmama
and enjoys taking care of the five
popcorn trees she gave him. Sallie has great memories of skipping school and shopping with Grandmama. She also loves painting like her Grandmama did.
John Hayden shares his Grandmama’s
sense of humor and loved her silly notes. He enjoyed joking with her “Do Da.” Sally’s love for the Lord has been passed on to her children and grandchildren.
We love her dearly and will be with her again.

We will celebrate her life with an informal gathering at The Reserve at Masonboro Clubhouse. We invite those who loved her to join us Sunday, June 22nd from 5-7 pm. Very casual attire.
