Sandra Leigh Collis, 50, of Pecan Avenue, Wilmington, passed away Friday, January 11, 2013, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

Sandra was born in Mitchell County, NC, to Johnny Charles Collis and Joan Duncan Collis. She was a member of Winter Park Baptist Church where she was a member of the Nelson Farmer Sunday School Class. She had many friends, especially those she met at Devita Dyalisis. Also, Sandra was able to live her dream of going to Disney because of the Dream Foundation.

Survivors include her parents, Joan D. and Johnny Collis, of Wilmington; a brother, Brett Collis, of Wilmington; a sister, Lisa Collis Mintz, and husband, Jeffrey, both of Shallotte; nephew, Brighton Mintz, and a niece, Brianna Mintz, both of Shallotte; and many other close friends and family.

There will be a visitation 10 AM, Monday, at Winter Park Baptist Church.

The memorial service will follow at 11 AM, Sunday, also at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Winter Park Baptist Church Centennial Fund, 4700 Wrightsville Avenue, Wilmington, NC, 28403.

    Sandra was an inspiration to all who knew her. Her warm smile and her loving hugs. She was couragous and strong. She was a fighter and never knew a stranger I have always thought of her as a friend and know one day we will meet in heaven. She will be missed. May God wrap His arms of confort around you all.
