Sandy G. Lee

Sandy “Kooter” Lee, 48, of Wilmington, NC, formerly of Anderson Creek, NC, died Monday, December 19, 2011 at her home.

Fabulous, fancy, funny and sweet, Sandy was the epitome of all those things. She had a smile that could light up a room! Sandy was a registered nurse, a 25 year co-owner of Amy & Co. Boutique and eventually an owner of her salon in Wilmington. She was a business woman, in addition to those attributes, she was a lover of life, people and decorating.

She was a sister, aunt, daughter, and friend. Most importantly, Sandy was a fighter. When diagnosed with cancer years ago, she fearlessly fought it with a smile, never losing her light, always continuing to shine through it all.

She is survived by her mother and father, Amy and Junior Lee; brother, Steve Lee; two nieces, Amber and Courtney Lee.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, December 22, 2011 at the Kenan Chapel at Landfall, 510 Arboretum Dr., Wilmington, NC (910) 256-9578 by Rev. Barbara “Sweetie” Francis.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.

I met Sandy over 3 yrs ago in Myrtle Beach. I was in the midst of a horrible divorce. She told me all that she had endured with cancer and had survived and that I would survive my ordeal too. On the day of my mediation, she was there for me checking on me throughout the day. She was and is my angel. I truly believe that God placed her in my life. She will always be my angel watching over me.
