Sean Wesley Harris, beloved son, brother, and friend, passed away on July 23, 2023, in his hometown of Wilmington, North Carolina. He was born on March 4, 1990, in Wilmington, where he lived a life filled with adventure and a love for the outdoors. Sean was 33 years old at the time of his passing.

Sean’s work experience included being a dedicated Welder for Intracoastal Iron. He took great pride in his craft, using his skilled hands to create and contribute to the industry. His career allowed him the opportunity to travel abroad from Russia to the Bahamas and explore many states across the United States. Sean cherished these experiences, especially when he could combine his passions for surfing and sailing.

An avid lover of the ocean, Sean spent countless hours surfing, fishing, and sailing.   He was also an avid hunter. He found solace in working with his hands. During his summers in college, he would venture to Alaska to work on fishing boats, embracing the challenges and rewards of such an adventure.

Sean’s loving parents, Carl Anthony Harris, Sr., and Luann Davis Harris; sister Sarah Elizabeth Harris and her children, Caleb Harris, Tynik Lane, and Kenniyah Harris, all of Wilmington, NC; and two uncles, Mark Davis of Belhaven, NC, and Michael Harris and wife, Glenda, of Carlsbad, CA, survive him. He also leaves behind a host of dear friends who will forever cherish the memories they shared.

    Sarah E James says:
Sean was a great friend to both of our sons during their time at Wrightsville Beach School, and as neighbors in Airlie. They spent their boyhood years together after school, in scouts, and summers playing in the neighborhood and on the water. We all enjoyed his kind and gentle spirit and are truly saddened by this news. Many condolences to Luanne and Tony.
