I was so lucky to get the chance to know this beautiful girl. I will NEVER forget how quickly attached we got to each other. My heart broke knowing she was taken way too soon. My daughter, was born on Shelby's 22nd birthday (October 26) and I am forever blessed knowing she will ALWAYS be apart of us. Rest In Peace sweet girl.

I was Shelby's Introductory Sociology instructor at Cape Fear Community College. I am devastated of the news of her passing. She was beautiful, smart, driven, and loved her little boy (she spoke of him often). Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you at this most difficult time.

Shelby had one of the most sweetest attitudes towards life. She will truly be missed. I only knew her from school, but everyday was better when I knew she would be at school. I knew no one and Shelby said she felt the same and at that instance she became a friend that I will never forget.

My heartfelt sympathy goes out to Shelby's family and friends. Shelby was such a beautiful young lady, inside and out. She was always so happy, especially when she was with her beautiful baby boy. You could see the love and she just glowed with happiness. Such a tragic loss. Shelby will be missed here on earth and heaven just received a beautiful angel. Rest in Peace Shelby!
