Stan Dennis, 79 of Wilmington, NC formerly of Wilmington, Delaware died Tuesday August 7, 2007 at home with his family at his side.

Stan was born in Little Rock, AR., December 23, 1927 the son of the late Ernest and Rose Martin Dennis. Stan served his country in World War II in the US Navy. He took early retirement in 1985 as the Assistant Production Manager of E. I. duPont of Wilmington, DE, during which time several patents were issued in his name. He was asked to come out of retirement to take over the teaching of duPont safety seminars all over the world. He and his wife moved to Wilmington, NC, twelve years ago to enjoy retirement and so he could enjoy fishing. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

Surviving are his wife of 56 years Pat M. Dennis; sons Walter Dennis of Raleigh, NC; Ray Dennis and partner Richard Joblonicky of Wilmington, NC; daughters Kathy Dennis of Wilmington, NC, Jeanni Dennis and partner Bob Brown of Wilmington, DE; Freda Winters and partner John Tucker of Surf City, NC; sister Nancy Jane McQueeny of Overland Park, KS; and one grandson, Bob Brooks of Wilmington, NC.

Family will receive friends from 2:00 P.M until 3:30 P.M Saturday, August 11, 2007 at Wilmington Burial and Cremation Service.

Memorials may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice in lieu of flowers, 2222 S 17th Street Wilmington, NC 28401.
