Stephen Mack Bowman, age 62 of Wilmington, NC, sadly passed away on April 24, 2022.

Steve was born on May 7, 1959 in Chillicothe, OH to William Gene Bowman and the late Patricia Hiles.

He also found his true partner who he created a bond that lasted throughout his life, which included raising a daughter together. Steve became a licensed surveyor and owned a successful survey business, Bowman’s Surveying. He was always willing to lend a helping hand. He relocated to spend more time with his daughter, son-in-law, and grandkids who brought him great joy.

Steve also enjoyed teaching others new skills, which ranged from learning the ropes of surveying, to ensuring a new patio was level, changing a tire, and everything in between. He enjoyed listening to Jimmy Buffet, taking his chances on a roulette table, and trying to convince others that the “O” on his Ohio State hat stood for “Otis”. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.

Steve is survived by his daughter Stevy Dingus (Travis), grandchildren Zoey and Zane, his former spouse and friend Ruthie Bowman, his brother Tim Hiles (Kim), his sisters Debbie Bible (TJ) and Janie Junk, nieces and nephews Jacob, Matthew, Noah, Trish, Todd, and Lee, as well as many other extended family members and friends who will miss him. Steve is predeceased by his mother Patricia Hiles and his sister Teresa Bowman.
