Mark Steven “Steve” Landreth, Sr., 51, of Wilmington, passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at Pender Memorial Hospital.
Born in New Albany, IN, he was a son of the late John William Landreth and Frances Byrd Purlee and step-father Errol Purlee. He was a member of Gibson Avenue Baptist Church and he and his wife fostered children for 13 years. Steve never met a stranger and loved everyone he met.
A loving husband and father, he is survived by his wife of 26 years, Wendy Schell Landreth of the home; four sons, Mark Steven Landreth, Jr., Lawrence Peter Schell, Eli Joseph Landreth, Jeremiah Isaiah Landreth, all of Wilmington; three daughters, Victoria Schell Palmer (Matt) of MN, Kemia Kay Landreth, Gabriela Christina Landreth, both of Wilmington; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles and Kathy Davis of Wilmington; two brothers, Danny William Landreth (Marlene) of Pekin, IN, James Clinton Landreth of Charlotte; and a sister, Julia Ann Wiseman (Denny) of Clarksville, IN.
A celebration of Steve’s life will be 11 am Saturday at Gibson Avenue Baptist Church with Reverend Tex Floyd officiating.
